I originally found out about Wanderful (a global community for women in travel) through Twitter, and then again through Nicolette Orlemans, a friend of mine and the blogger behind Culture with Travel. The connection was serendipitously appropriate, as I also met Nicolette through a chain of tweets.
As I learned more about the community, it wasn’t before long that I realized that I was already in the midst of a close circle of friends who were involved with Wanderful. Without a blink of an eye, I’ve quickly been welcomed into other circles of friends and connected with likeminded female travelers through Wanderful (both online and offline).
This weekend, I’ll be attending my (very first) official Wanderful event, and I’m so excited that it is their biggest event of the year: The Women in Travel Summit. Hosted in Irvine, California, the team behind WITS16 expects a group of several hundred women bloggers, explorers, travel industry experts and entrepreneurs from across the globe to gather, network and exchange ideas.
If you’re heading to WITS as well, I want to meet you! On Saturday, I’ll be attending a session on how to fund your travels through high-paid writing gigs, led by my good friend Gabi Logan. Come find me!
